It has been six years and I’m still here by your side. But I don’t know if you have noticed it. We have gone through so many things and I’ve learned so much from you. You shared with me a place in your life. You trusted me your deepest secrets. I’m so thankful to have you as a friend.

It has been six years…I kept my mouth shut. For so long I kept this feeling, fearing to lose this friendship. I even planned not to see you. But you’re so special, I couldn’t resist. I thought staying away from you would help but it brought me nothing but longing. I really missed you badly.

It has been six years…odd. You always hurt me, perhaps unconsciously, but I still care for you...I pretend that I’m happy for you though deep inside I know it’s killing me. Whenever I hear that you’re hurt, I couldn’t help but control my emotions. If only I have the courage to confront them and tell them to stop hurting the person I cherish most.

It has been six years…I still hate this feeling if this means that I’m going to lose a friend. I almost lost you once and it really made me feel terrible. At first I only admired you. You were seated next to the person in front of me. You look innocent. I knew I liked you, right then and there. But when I got to know you, I hesitated because you were so nice that I couldn’t even think of taking advantage. I want this friendship.

It has been six years…I still like the way you look into my eyes. I can see honesty and sincerity. I still like your smile. I could feel the thrill and warmth of your grin. I like the way you speak. Your words are full of passion.  I like the way you touch my hand. I could feel your affection. I just like the way you are. I love everything about you.

It has been six years and you’re my very first true friend. That’s why I couldn’t put my feelings over our friendship. I thought of ignoring this feeling and look for someone like you. But it never worked because I can’t help but feel guilty. I love the person but my feelings for you keep on holding me. I always find myself back in love with you.

It has been six years…I never told you that I care. I guess we’re not just used to it.  My actions are totally negative. We always tease and criticize each other. You never knew that those criticisms are praises for me. I never told you that I admire everything about you. I’m sure you got no clue that I’m so into you.

It has been six years…I faked smiles whenever you talk about him. I let my alter ego agree when you were about to say someone “I love you.” It pains me to say “I’m happy for you,” when in fact I feel so miserable. I secretly like you and what hurts me most is, there’s nothing I can do.

It has been six years…all I can react is a deep breath and a sigh. You love that guy. The same guy, who hurt you last month, took your pride and made you feel miserable. Damn, he made you cry and he always makes you cry. But you still accepted him. I just can’t understand why you’re so helpless whenever it comes to him.

It has been six years…I’m still practicing my lines. I just don’t know how to say I would never hurt you. I know I can never replace him but I can promise you that I’d love you and take care of you the best way I could. I know you don’t have romantic feelings for me and I respect that.

It has been six years…I stood beside you in every step of the way. Of the seven relationships you had, you cry to me about them. How I wish those tears were for me because I don’t know if you would cry if I were gone. I always advice you to keep your relationships though I know I’m awfully jealous.

It has been six years…I still support your relationships. I even find ways to fix your problems with him. I know I’m such a fool. But my reason is very simple. I just want you to be happy. I know I can do something to ruin your relationship and say negative stuffs about him but I never did it because I’m concerned with your feelings. I just don’t want you to get hurt.

It makes me wish I’ve never known you.

It makes me wish I never loved you.

If only I have the courage to assure you that with me, you’ll never cry again.

I don’t know why, I just can’t explain…

It has been six years…and I’m still in love with you.

I succeeded from keeping this feeling from you for six years now, what’s six years more?
